2017 is here and it's time to take a look at all the great new bridal trends coming this season. Every year new trends strut their stuff on the catwalks and our favourite trends from passed years are reinvented.

Take a look at our review of the top trends for the coming year.

Wedding Dress Colours

Nude and silver trends are going to take centre stage this year, as more and more brides want to have a more unusual dress they are stepping away from the tradition white and ivory this year. Of course for some brides the white / ivory dress is key and there will be plenty of beautiful dresses in the traditional colour palette, we know and love.

Wedding Dress Embellishments – Sequins

Sequins are sassing their way into every bridal collection this year, as brides want to add a bit of sparkle to their big day. Sequins are a subtle alternative to beading and embroidery, especially when added sparingly to a underskirt. The glistening sequins will catch the light as you glide down the aisle.

Wedding Dress Fabrics - Ruffles and more

Ruffles, feathers and tiered skirts will also make their mark this year, as brides look for a statement dress with detail and luxurious texture. Ruffles in particular, are making an impact across boho bridal styles, introducing a relaxed style with depth and movement.

Wedding Dress Accessories – Capes

Capes are going to become a staple alternative to a veil, a easy style that allows brides to move freely and capes are ultra feminine and luxurious in lace or when lightly embellished. Capes are also a great choice if you are conscious of your arms.

Wedding Dress Necklines - Off the shoulder

Off the shoulder gowns will reign supreme this season, inspired by ready-to-wear catwalk collections and the romance of Belle's iconic ball gown in 'Beauty and the Beast'. The motion picture is due to hit big screens in the spring and bound to influence Autumn / Winter brides for 2017 and Spring 2018.

2017 Wedding Dress Silhouettes

Silhouettes are changing in a subtle way too. The ballgown is back, with its ultra flattering properties but expect to see it with a twist, textural fabrics, floaty organza, coloured prints and embroidery will be a refreshing move away from lace. Ballgown styles will be lighter than in previous seasons, with more of a flowing feel than a heavy structured look. Of course the figure hugging fit and flare will remain a top trend well into 2017, with even more daring additions in the form of cut outs, nude panels, plunging necklines and backs.

Wedding Dress Styles – Sleeves

Elegant sleeves have played a huge part in recent bridal catwalks, in many shapes and sizes, a trend inspired by ready-to-wear and Kate Middleton, of course. Expect to see fluted sleeves, flutter sleeves, billowing bishop sleeves and illusion sleeves all featured in 2017 collections. This is a great design feature for many brides, as it offers some coverage while still looking classic and sexy. There's definitely a sleeve type for everyone.

Fashion Forward - Illusion Trains

One trend we love for the coming year is the 'illusion train', a truly delicate way to add glamour and interest to your look. Created either with a floor length lining, a feature overlay or an ultra sexy cut out lace train, there's a look for every bride. Fabrics are beginning to veer away from the traditional types of lace and we're definitely using more modern textiles. Stretch fabrics, luxurious crepes and structural mikados can all be seen in our up coming collection, along with some fantastically, fun, floral prints and classic satin styles in elegant cuts.
