Now the excitement can begin! Your partner has popped the question and you have a hundred and ten things to think about. The dress, venue, guests, bridesmaids, flowers, a cake and everything else involved with planning a wedding. It can get very overwhelming.

Of course these things are all very important but the dress is arguably the most important dress you will ever wear, the centrepiece of the whole occasion and you may find that it is the you and your dress that is talked about the most. So it's important to find the perfect wedding dress that looks great and feels right.

Many brides claim that you 'just know' when you find the right dress but before that happens, you might find yourself trying on quite a lot of designs and shapes that you always thought you'd love, that suddenly don't make the cut. Finding your wedding dress should be a fun and exciting experience; after all you only plan on doing this once in your life. Now take a deep breath and let us help take the stress out of finding your dream dress.

Let Wedding Dresses Inspire You:

Its always great to have an idea of what you are looking for, most girls have been dreaming about their wedding dress ever since they watched their first Disney movie but if you haven't don't panic! Pick up a few magazines and scroll through Pinterest and Instagram, just to get a idea of styles and shapes you like.

Start Your Wedding Dress Search Early:

The dress is so important that you really should be looking sooner rather than later. With so many things to think about it could get lost in the planning but this is the one element you don't want to leave to the last minute. Your wedding dress needs to take priority, book a few appointments and give yourself plenty of time to find the right dress for you.

Find The Right Silhouette:

There are lots of different styles to choose from when it comes to picking a wedding dress. From ballgown, fishtail, fit and flare to column, a-line and tea length!

Take some time to understand the different silhouettes and decide which ones would best suit you. Focus on your own personal style, as feeling confident and comfortable on your big day is so important. Try not to concentrate too much on trends and dresses that seem to be popular at the time. Instead you should find a dress that meets your needs and what suits you.
Top Tip: Don't forget the top half of the dress, many brides focus on the shape of the skirt and the train but the bodice is equally important.

Your Wedding Dress Should Suit The Season:

Don't forget to think about the time of year, as the season you choose for your wedding can have a big impact on the dress you choose. When it comes to fabric and embellishments, some designs will be better suited to Summer or Winter weddings. Take a bit of time to think about the season, everything from the dress to the accessories should work seamlessly together. If your having a Winter wedding you may want to consider a high neck style rather than a strapless dress. If you have your heart set on a strapless style, think about accessories like a bolero or cape. If you're having a Summer wedding will that dream princess ballgown be too heavy in the heat? It's important to adapt to the season you have chosen for your wedding but don't get disheartened, if you have always wanted a ballgown style there are lightweight options available for a Summer wedding.

Be Open To Different Wedding Dress Style Ideas:

Many brides have a set idea in mind when it comes to searching for their wedding dress and they won't look at anything else. Try to be open to something different, you might of always dreamed of a fishtail gown but the ballgown that sparkles in the shop window might look even better. Keep your options open and try alternative styles, shapes and fabrics.
Top Tip: Don't judge a dress by how it looks on the hanger, be bold and try on lots of different styles. You never know the dress you dismissed, might turn out to be the perfect dress for you!

Don't Forget:

If nothing else, remember that it is your wedding day and you can choose whatever dress you like for your special day. Just give yourself the time you need to try a few different styles, think about the season, find your perfect accessories and don't forget to follow your heart.
